Rick Hutcheson penned an editorial in the January, 2006 issue of SAW Dust, where he stated that scrolling was a fading art form. You can read the complete article here. This in turn started a conversation in the SAW Chat room, as well as other forums on to how to solve this problem.. Those ideas are summarized here. If you know of, or can think of, additional ideas - please post them on the SAW Forum.
 
bulletACES - Anyone Can Enjoy Scrolling - This video presentation can be given to any group as an introduction to scrolling and the tools and materials needed to enjoy the hobby.
bulletVolunteer to help a Boy Scout or Girl Scout troop use a scrollsaw and make a project or two.
bulletTeach a scrolling class to a youth group such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Boys and Girls Clubs, 4-H or some other youth organization
bulletContact your local municipality to find out about programs for underprivileged children. Mentor one or more of those children and teach them to use a scrollsaw as an after school activity.
bulletDonate an old saw to a youth organization
bulletDisplay your work at your local Library
bulletDo a Scrolling demonstration at your local Library
bulletHold scrolling class's at your own shop
bulletDemonstrations in schools
bulletDemonstrations at fairs - county, state
bulletTeach a scrolling section at your local school
bulletDemonstrate at a local Woodworking club
bulletTeach a scrolling workshop for a local Woodworking club
bulletDemonstrate at Lowes, Menards, etc.
bulletDemonstrate at local Woodworking Shows
bulletWrite an article about your scrolling and submit to a local newspaper.
bulletParticipate in your local Schools "Craft and Hobby Day" with a scrolling demonstration
bulletIf you belong to a scrolling club, invite a local youth group to one of your workshop/meetings and spend the time teaching the members of the youth group.
