One of SAW's primary purposes is to promote scrolling. To that end, we have developed several features to this web site to encourage Community amongst all scrollers. We hope that you will make use of these tools and expand your scrolling community! The other half of expanding the scrolling community is the answer to the question "What can I do to show more people how much fun scrolling can be?" To that end, we have created a page of ideas, one or more of which you can do. If you have different ideas than those presented, add them to the thread on this topic in the SAW Forums.

The SAW Forums are an online way you can discuss scrolling, SAW Membership, Equipment, Patterns, etc. The Forums are open to all scrollers, whether or not you have joined SAW.  Of course, we consider membership in SAW important enough to encourage all of you to join. But if you have questions that might help you to make that decision, then this is the place to get the answers. You will be required to register to use this feature. You can use your existing id and password if you wish.

Note to all AOL users:

"If you have posted in a topic in the forum, or if you choose to watch a particular topic, you will receive an E-Mail notification when a new post is added to the thread. This is NOT spam. Our web host has found that some AOL users have marked this type of E-Mail as spam. We strongly suggest that if you are an AOL user, that you find another E-Mail address to receive mail from the Forum. Our web host has a zero tolerance policy for E-Mail spam. We have therefore, found it necessary to block all AOL E-Mail address's from using the Forums or face having the entire web site shut down because someone has reported a normal E-Mail as spam to AOL."

The SAW Chat Room is also a service that is provided to all scrollers, whether SAW members or not. The Chat Rooms are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A scheduled Chat is set for Thursday evenings starting at 7 PM Central Standard Time. Local Chapters can use the chat rooms, or if you just need a place to meet with one or more friends to discuss your scrolling.

Future Features:

bullet SAW mailing lists - This feature will allow all scrollers to continue discussions thru E-Mail list servers.

bullet SAW Photo Gallery - This feature will allow all scrollers to upload and display their own photographs without having to work thru the webmaster of the SAW web site. This feature will tie into the existing SAW Forum so that registration in one will work for both the Forums and the Gallery.

bullet Spell Check in the Forums - This feature will help those who are not confident with their typing to proofread their messages prior to posting them in the Forum.

bullet Printer Friendly Forum Pages - This feature will provide all of the messages in a thread with the graphics stripped from the display so that you can print that particular thread with less paper and less ink. So those directions someone posted on how to use a particular tool in your scrolling can be easily printed off.

Other Mailing Lists, Forums, and Chat Rooms on the internet:

In addition to the features that SAW provides, many others can be found on the internet. These links will help you to find and join these other groups. Listing of a group or service here does not constitute any endorsement by SAW. We provide the information here as a service to the Scrolling Community.

We are pleased to offer these venues for forming Community to you. Please be aware that this is a privilege and not a right. Offensive posts and posters will be discouraged and, if necessary, appropriate action will be taken. Keep in mind that small children may read these messages and posts and don't say anything that you would not want your child or grandchild to read.

Any abuse of the above statement can be reported to at any time by any one.
